IO HAWK Personal Motorized Transporter
Skateboard meets Segway
Glide along on a self-balancing motorized board
Roll This Way
The IO Hawk personal motorized transporter was unveiled in early 2015 at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Think of it as a cross between a Segway and a skateboard, requiring changes in balance to motor around. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the IO Hawk can go up to 12 miles on a charge and maxes out at 6.2 miles per hour. The machine is designed for riders of all ages and measures about as wide as adult shoulders, so it can be used on the sidewalk in most cities without taking up too much space. Weighing 22 pounds, the IO Hawk can hold up to 265 pounds. Choose from black, white, red, yellow, or blue.
