Bark Contender Lite Pro Elite Paddleboard
Fast and stable paddleboard
Built for performance touring or racing in all water conditions
Get Up, Stand Up
Joe Bark has been building and racing all kinds of paddleboards since the 1983 Catalina Classic. “When standup paddling came along, we were building and racing standup from the start,” says Bark. “Our goal is to build fast and stable paddleboards for all water conditions.” The company’s new line of boards has something for the touring paddler and the race competitor alike. Which board to choose is based on each paddler’s height, weight, ability, and experience. Prices range from $2,200 to $2,600. Shown here is the new Bark Contender Lite Pro-Elite Blue 12’6” ($2,249). This lower-volume, narrower board is great for a variety of conditions. It’s also available in red. The Pro Elite series of boards features a lightweight and durable fused-cell foam core that is pressure-molded with carbon and fiberglass. This makes for a light, strong, rigid board. The board’s high-density-foam standing area is reinforced with PVC. All of the Bark boards are designed, hand-shaped, tested, refined, and finished in Southern California.
